al Qaeda and fires?

This notion seems so absurd that I hate to even admit that I clicked through to the story...but anyway:

Allegedly, some members of al Qaeda talked about a plot to set large fires in the Western United States as part of a plot for low budget terror campaigns: See USA Today story here. Via Little Green Footballs.

From the article:

The Republic reported that the detainee, who was not identified, said the plan involved three or four people setting wildfires using timed devices in Colorado, Montana, Utah and Wyoming that would detonate in forests and grasslands after the operatives had left the country.

I can't believe that I am actually entertaining the possibility that this could happen.
